At the age of seven, Tina Grant was settled in her second grad classroom writing a child sized essay dictating exactly how she would become an Oscar winner by the age of twenty two. Ten years later, however as she walked down the aisle to accept Brian Holzman’s hand in marriage, the plan seemed all but forgotten. There were more important things to worry about, such a s how his mechanic job paired with her waitressing gig would support both of them and the baby on the way (the reason for the impromptu wedding at such young ages of 17 for Tina, and 19 for Brian). The couple some how managed to scrape by and on January 25, 1984 Katrina Holzman came shrieking into the world.

Katrina’s childhood was relatively normal and anything but lavish. Growing up in a small town outside of Louisville, Kentucky, she was raised with proper southern manners and (via a scholarship) was taught dance beginning at the age of five. The stage soon became her second home and as she began to stand out and shine as soon as the spotlight hit her, an idea struck Tina. If Kit could catch the local’s hearts, why couldn’t the little girl catch the nations? So at the age of six, Katrina had her first agent. There were a few small commercial roles at first, but the big fish bit a few months after she dipped her toes into acting by way of a starring role in a Kraft cheese commercial.

Seven brought more experience with print ads and Kit’s first big audition. It was for the Disney Channel, who had hopes of bringing in fresh fasces to the New Mickey Mouse Club. Tina knew this could be the ticket out of poverty for her family, and massively huge for Kit (who mostly just enjoyed the attention) so from the time that the agent set up the audition until Thundercats were go? Kit was worked and Kit was worked hard. It paid off in the end as she won a spot amongst several other children around her age and got her first taste of real acting.

Kit remained on the program until its end in 1994. It had been fun and she had been taught her craft by some of the beast teachers available (a fact that she would come to appreciate more when she grew older), but by the age of ten, she was tired. Tina (who by this time had become a stage mom to the fullest) agreed to allow her daughter a year off with the agreement that she would continue to go to auditions and continue to take lessons, which she did. By the end of 1995 she was filming another pillow (for the Disney channel once more) for a teen series called Flash Forward.

By the time that show was placed into the vault (or, you know, closet) that television shows tend to disappear to when their stars get too old, or too bored, or the rating take a massive nose dive, Kit was ready to try her hand at movies (again, at the urging of Tina who had recently separated from Brian). Since her name was fairly well known, and she had a decent reputation of not being a massive screw up, it didn’t take long for her to break in. Pleasantville came first, followed the next year by The Faculty. While she was beginning to make waves on the screen, she was slowly gaining more and more attention for her off the screen antics.

Parties, booze, and drugs had become a regular for the teenager, despite her young age. While Tina made a show of being the concerned mother, it was obvious that the girl was being enabled by someone and inside sources was not ashamed to point fingers at the woman. By the age of seventeen she had spent her first thirty days inside a rehabilitation clinic and by eighteen had dropped any and all contact with her mother. Following the dramatics and the attention of the paparazzis, Kit began to keep a lower key, focusing more on her work and by the age of twenty one, she was finally starting to get attention for her acting (as she appeared, for the first time, in three consecutive films, two being fairly small parts.).

Now at the age of 24, she has split entirely from her mother (and has recently made contact with her father), is starring on one of the hottest shows on the CW, and is scheduled to appear as Christine Everhart in Iron Man in a year. Despite the fact that she is still known on the party scene, her antics have calmed down quite a bit and it has been a while since there have been any pictures of Kit passed out in the passenger seat of a vehicle.
